The first sport
At the first recorded ancient Olympic Games in 760 BC, there was only one event, a footrace.
Later Games included other events such as wrestling, boxing,
equestrian, discus, javelin, and jumping.From around the same time,
the only sport mentioned in the Bible is said to be wrestling
(see Bible sporting quotes).The most popular sport
played around the world today is Association football (soccer),
Football (soccer) has its origins from China (see Soccer History).
Although it is impossible to know for sure, it is usually considered that
wrestling and boxing were the first sports every played.
Competitions using the simple mode of human transport, running,
would also have been among the first sports played.
Sport has evolved over the years throughout the different nations,cultures and communitiys.
For example New Zealand is well known for a diverse range of sports including Rugby, Hockey,
Cricket and Swimming Sports. All these sports were developed and adapted over time in different
Ways throughout the planet. The greeks invented the first competetive sport which was a footrace
which is 500 hundred years before the roman gladiator arenas were invented, which in conclusion
means that the greeks invented the first sport in recorded history which has devoloped humanity for the better.
